Runnng bases after A's game

Emma and I went to the A's game today with the main purpose of her running the bases after the game, which they do on Sundays only. This has to be one of the worst videos I shot. I had to keep moving and couldn't stand at homeplate to capture her running. She's wearing turquoise top and brown skirt; she's running to 2nd base at start of video, clearly in front of me, then gets lost in the crowd.

The A's lost, so maybe they could use her help on the basepaths.

Minnesota and science

We also took Emma and her cousin Charlee to a science museum for kids in Minneapolis.

Go Twins!

We also went to a Twins game, where the Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 11-4 with Denard Span getting three triples. We had great seats, row 12 behind home plate.

Minneapolis, Fargo vacation

Emma played with her cousins in Fargo last week, and also went to a Twins game in Minneapolis. She also had fun with her namesake, Great Grandma Emma.

Soccer begins

Emma started a soccer class today through the city of Concord. She's the girl in white T-shirt (Maple Leafs) and jeans running around with a huge smile on her face. She's not on a team yet, but we plan to get her on a team after the class ends. She loved the 45 minutes of running around and smiled the whole time. She didn't want to leave.

Singing and dancing

We were in Carlsbad on Sunday to visit the family and Emma had a blast with her cousins, Nathan and Luke. Crank up the volume on this one:

Disneyland trip

We went to Disneyland Feb. 12-13. It was a much easier trip than two years ago, when Emma was 3 and didn't want to go in any ride that was loud or in a dark room. That eliminated a lot of things, but this time we all enjoyed the trip a lot more. It's good to be 5.

Emma also went on a huge rope swing ride:

Shine a light

Emma picked some flowers, put them in a yellow cup and wanted the flowers to have some light since it was overcast outside. She shined a flashlight on her flowers.

Bowler of the night

Emma started her bowling class today, along with two boys around her age, at Clayton Bowl. She was a star on her first day, leading the pack with a score of 79 in bumper bowling.

Come back in six weeks when her skills will be markedly improved.

As for the title of this post, it harkens back to the days of the NBA strike when Channel 4's sports announcer, Gary Radnich, had a "Bowler of the Night" clip showing someone bowling a perfect or near-perfect game.

We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and had a great time. Here are some videos of Emma and what she saw, including being "inside" a wave.
